Nasal Obstruction Diagnosis
Examination by Otolaryngology (ENT) Doctor
A visit to an otolaryngologist (ENT Doctor) at a snoring center will diagnose the cause of your snoring. To determine if your snoring is caused by an anatomical or non-anatomical nasal obstruction, you will need a doctor of otolaryngology to run a series of simple to complex tests. If it is suspected that you may have sleep apnea, your insurance company may require an over-night sleep study before they will pay for your treatment, whether it is surgery or other medical treatment that is necessary.
If your ENT doctor discovers that your snoring is caused by anatomical nasal obstruction such as a deviated septum or enlarged turbinates, or non-anatomical nasal polyps or sinus disease, he or she can then treat the condition through either surgical or non-surgical procedures.
